Leadership Focused on Local Issues
Mark Cabot
Board of Education Candidate
Mark Cabot has lived in South Windsor for the last 12 years. Mark and his wife Renu live on Kelly Road with their three children. Currently he has one son attending South Windsor High School, his other son attends Timothy Edwards Middle School, and his daughter is in pre-school and will attend Orchard Hill Elementary School in 2024. During the pandemic, Mark organized the “Unsung Hero” parades, which brought the town together to recognize and honor our towns heroes. Mark is also the co-founder of Hartford Bags of Love, a nonprofit organization that helps the unhoused population in Hartford and surrounding towns and help with food insecurity in towns in Hartford County. Before moving to Connecticut, Mark has classroom experience in a school for children with cognitive and social emotional needs. He has also been on volunteer projects to schools in Malawi, Costa Rica, Thailand, and Japan.
Mark believes that members of the Board of Education need to improve at listening to the students of South Windsor to better understand their needs and be more supportive members of the education system. If elected, he plans on having an “open door policy” for students and teachers to be able to share the victories of our school district but also bring to light concerns they may have.
